Stop the cuts

Colleges and universities across Canada are seeing program cuts, job losses and campus closures.

After years of insufficient provincial funding and the recent cap on international student visas, Canadian colleges and universities across have already seen layoffs and program cuts. 

These are some of the most significant program cuts and job losses post-secondary education has seen in generations. 

While many of the cuts are happening in Ontario – where provincial funding per student is the worst in the country – they also are happening all over the country. In every province, universities and colleges are struggling financially. Many have implemented hiring freezes, leaving big resource gaps and ultimately reducing the quality of education students receive.
